The Open is back at Royal Portrush, the scene of one of the greatest Sundays in Irish sport in decades when Shane Lowry won the famous #claretjug in front of a joyous crowd in 2019. Since Padraig Harrington's wins in 2007 (Carnoustie) and 2008 (Royal Birkdale), Darren Clarke (Royal St George's) added his name to the list of winners from the island in 2011 and of course Rory McIlroy won the third leg of his Grand Slam at Royal Liverpool in 2014, the scene of Fred Daly's 1947 triumph.
