In another of the many highlights in an outstanding 2024-25 season for CHS Athletics, Josh Kandefer ’26 was named the All-Western New York Pitcher of the Year for large schools.
Kandefer, of Lancaster, was also the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year in addition to being named to the All-WNY Large Schools First Team.
He helped CHS to its second straight regular season league championship followed by the Georgetown Cup title; in the championship series, his complete game, four-hit shutout in a 2-0 victory over Nichols evened the series at 1-1 to send the Crusaders to a deciding Game Three.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound Kandefer also helped CHS advance to the Catholic state championship game for the first time in school history with another masterful performance on the mound.
