Melissa’s story is the epitome of resilience and brilliance. When she first pitched her vegan, inclusive lipstick brand on Shark Tank, she was told “No.” But that “No” didn’t stop her, it fueled her. She kept pushing, innovating, and believing in her vision. Fast forward: The Lip Bar is now a multi-million-dollar brand, stocked in major retailers like Target and Walmart, and continuing to redefine beauty standards for women everywhere. Melissa, thank you for reminding us that rejection isn’t the end, it’s often the beginning of something greater. Thank you for showing Black women that there’s room for us to create, to thrive, and to win.
