Opening night at the Green County Fair came out of the chute fast. 🎡🇺🇸 From the flag-waving opening ceremonies we went straight to a full rodeo—bucking bulls, barrel racers and steer wrestling under a sky that finally decided to behave. Toughest moment of the night: cowboy Jason Cutts took a hard hit when a horse clipped him during steer wrestling. I found myself next to his mom and did my best to steady her nerves before checking on Jason. Even with a bloodied (likely broken) nose, he told EMS, “I don’t want to be doing this right now… I want to be lassoing calves.” That’s grit right there. Huge thanks to Green County EMS for the quick care, and to every rider, roper and wrangler who put on a show worthy of a fair kickoff.
