Here’s a scary sight on the Deer Creek Fire in eastern Utah last Saturday… a Fire Tornado! It was rated as an EF-2 tornado, with winds of 111 mph to 135 mph. There were no injuries, but some homes were damaged. The Deer Creek Fire is burning on the Utah/Colorado state line, a little south of Grand Junction, Colorado. While scary, a fire vortex like this is not unheard of. A large, EF-2 tornado also formed with the Carr Fire as it burned through Redding, CA on July 26, 2018. Over 1000 homes were lost. Significant fire tornadoes also formed on 2017’s Wall Fire east of Chico in California’s Sierra Nevada, and on the Loyalton Fire in 2020, a little north of Reno, NV. #california #video #deercreek #firetornado
