Days after a late-night July 10 shooting in Northport that gave one person serious injuries, an 18-year-old male has been charged with violating Alabama's new Glock switch ban.
Northport Police and the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit were called to the 1900 block of Harper Road around 11 p.m. July 10 after the person who was shot arrived at a nearby hospital.
Investigators recovered multiple shell casings and video evidence. With that evidence, they identified 18-year-old Akari Morgan as a party in the shooting.
The weapon Morgan is accused of using was recovered and found to be a modified pistol capable of automatic fire.
