According to Tombigbee Electric Cooperative, thieves have stripped wires from the group's power lines at least twice over the past few months. That's caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages and compromised service reliability for families and businesses. The member-owned utility serves about 10,000 homes and businesses in Marion and Lamar counties in Northwest Alabama.
