One of the most friend-requested recipes from this weekend’s brunch was this cherry cocktail made with one of my go to spirits when hosting: theglenlivet_us.
I wanted something that felt like spring turning into summer.
I marinated the cherries in honey, balsamic, and tarragon until they turned soft, savory-sweet, and perfect for topping a drink. The result: a cocktail that’s fresh and
balanced.
Cerise Noire Cocktail | Makes 1
4 parts The Glenlivet 12 Year Old
1.5 parts fresh lemon juice
1 part honey syrup
3-4 cherries, pitted
1 small sprig tarragon
Dash of orange bitters
Muddle cherries with honey syrup and lemon juice in a shaker. Add The Glenlivet and tarragon (lightly bruised). Shake with ice until chilled and rosy. Fine strain into a coupe Garnish with a homemade honey-balsamic tarragon cherry**
** Honey-Balsamic Tarragon Cherries
Fresh pitted cherries
2 tbsp honey
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
I sprig tarragon
Pinch of salt
