Sometimes young hitters spend so much time focusing on practicing just the “mechanics” of their swing☝🏽That they end up disregarding how important it is to actually formulate the plan for success based on the situation and the pitchers sequences to previous hitters in their line up🤷🏻‍♂️ My suggestion is to at least try communicating with your manager/coach a little more to talk through things before your AB’s. Why not ask him if he’s seen anything you haven’t. Maybe tell him things like “hey im gonna be more of a free swinger this AB what do you think…” or “hey if I see the infield back with less than 2 outs with that runner on 3rd I might take something off it and just hit a ground ball to 2nd and get him in what do you think…”🤔 At that point even if you don’t execute what you wanted to, you’ve showed him thru your actions not only that you’re a mature coachable player, but you also care as much as he does about the team winning.
