IDENTIFYING MOTOR PREFERENCES ON PLAYERS LIKE PRONATION AND SUPINATION THROUGH A DETAILED ASSESSMENT CAN SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY☝🏽For example, people mostly talk about wrist pronation when it comes to throwing/pitching because we all pronate our wrist when we throw a baseball, however we don’t all pronate with the same range of motion or with the same effort🤷🏻♂️ Everyones wrists also pronates/supinates when swinging a bat, but again not the same range of motion across the board. So how can it reduce the risk of injuries by identifying it🤔As coaches if we take the time to identify it and we know a certain pitcher prefers to be in supination rather than pronation, we wouldn’t be asking him to throw a high volume of change ups.
