Routines are all about habit building. We create routines around habits that help us achieve whatever goals we want. The morning routine was something I started in prison and its importance since patrolling December 13, 2008 has only gotten more significant. It’s a time I can depend on and be in almost absolute control of, something very hard to have as soon as I step out of the house. Athletes build their success on routines. Wake up at the same time, go to sleep at the same time, eat and train at the same time - On competition day, the same warm up routine (think LeBron James and the chalk throwing). Once an athletes finds their identity and their routine, it’s very hard to stop them from doing what they do best. Find that space for YOU.
