I’ve said it a dozen times by now, but traveling by bike offers an unmatched way to experience a new-to-you place. It puts you at eye level without barriers with locals and the land. It’s true for the backroads of Oregon or Vermont, Spain, and well, sure enough, Peru. Just ask tom_powell_photo, who recently biked a few hundred miles through the Peruvian Andes during a two week trip. Grueling but beautiful, with endless climbing and very little cruising, the Peru Divide is no joke. It’s also unforgettable. Especially is Type II Fun is your bag. See the above film photos and many more in a new, in-depth guide now live on fieldmag.com. All images made on #OlympusTrip35 and #OlympusMjuII with #Cinestill50d and #kodakportra400
