With daylight savings just 30 days away, today’s
#filmfriday is a healthy dose of sunshine and camp inspo for longer days and warmer weather to come. Courtesy elodiethelliez. Read on for a glimpse into her approach to film photography and life at large.
“I spent some months this past summer living out of my truck, road tripping around the west. With my film cameras in tow, I documented my backpacking expeditions, frequent lake dips, new friends, and anything worthy of being saved to memory.
I like to think that my work reflects a unique synthesis of my southwestern upbringing and a love for the backcountry. The patience, selectivity, presence, and faith required to create film photographs continues to make it a huge component of my life and a most rewarding creative outlet. There’s nothing like the physicality of a roll of film that contains your mountain memories. Nothing compares to the softness and color and motion.” - words & photography by elodiethelliez made with
