For this Film Friday we’re sharing the work of flippy2good, a photographer based out of Salt Lake City. Flip really knows how to make the American West look good on film, and he’s an audio engineer, so he knows how to make things sound good too for that matter. Read on to hear a little bit about his process.
“I love analog because it keeps me searching for the best frames possible. The fact that each photo costs money makes what I frame deeply more intentional. You pretty much have one shot to nail it, so you really hone in on all the details and every piece of the frame. It also keeps me super present. The fact that I can’t flip through my images to make sure “I got it” keeps me in the moment and hunting for the next scene with no distractions.” Words and photos by flippy2good, made with a Mamiya 7 II and Canon AE-1 on Portra 400, Gold 200 and Portra 160.
