🌱 Hemp is one of the oldest cultivated crops—used by humans for over 10,000 years, dating back to ancient Mesopotamia. . 🌱 Hemp farming helped establish America—the Founding Fathers grew it, and at one point, it was so valuable to the economy that farmers were required by law to cultivate it. The first American flag was even sewn from hemp fabric. . 🌱But in the 1930s, hemp was criminalized due to lobbying by competing fiber industries—even though it’s non-psychoactive and non-addictive. It was briefly legalized again during WWII, since it played a critical role in supply chains.
