Illuminated by an ultraviolet light, scorpions actually glow a spectacular bright green due to fluorescent compounds in their exoskeleton - a biological trait that is still not fully understood. I took a UV light out into the desert to try and capture a scorpion underneath the Milky Way core and scorpius constellation, and I managed to get it on my first night out!
