On the occasion of World Youth Skills Day 2025, UNESCO celebrates the 5th anniversary of the Global Skills Academy (GSA). A flagship initiative launched in 2020 under the Global Education Coalition in response to the global learning and employment crisis. The GSA helps youth and adults develop the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world of work, with a strong focus on digital, green, entrepreneurial and core life skills. Through partnerships with over 230 UNEVOC Centres, UNESCO Field Offices, and private sector actors, the GSA has already reached over 1.2 million learners across more than 60 countries. As we look to the future, UNESCO reaffirms its ambition: To reach 10 million learners by 2030 — and to close the global skills gap together.
