#repost aarinmichelewilliams As I reflect on the 57th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I’m reminded of this truth: Black women have ALWAYS LED — not for attention, but for #IMPACT. Delta Sigma Theta has taught me that leadership rooted in #sisterhood, #service, and #social #action creates transformation that outlives us. Before there were pipelines, WE BUILT THEM. Before there were programs, WE CREATED THEM. Before we were invited to the table, WE BROUGHT OUR OWN CHAIRS — and enough for our sisters. From the 1913 Women’s Suffrage March, to the frontlines of today’s civil rights movements, to annual Days on the Capitol Hill, to flooding U.S. Confirmation Hearings (and your timeline) with a sea of red, Delta has shaped leaders who understand that activism is a calling — not a campaign.
