What began as “just for fun” comps turned into wins, scholarships, and proof that dance chose him first. Later, he joined Miami City Ballet School. ⭐️ He has danced with Jacob’s Pillow and choreographers such as Hope Boykin, Durante Verzola, Amy Hall Garner, Nacho Duato, Wayne McGregor, Camille A. Brown, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Kevin lega, and Christopher Huggins. 🕺🏾 João draws inspiration from Ailey’s vision, Balanchine’s precision, and Mitchell’s groundbreaking legacy—all shaping his drive to honor both artistry and heritage. 😇 João’s comeback after a serious injury shows how setbacks can fuel even greater artistry.
