How to take a basic minor 7 arpeggio and transform it into a hip jazz phrase using two essential tools: 👉 Chromatic enclosures 👉 The Dorian scale This phrase begins by targeting the root, 3rd, 5th, and 7th of the minor 7 chord, but instead of playing them directly, we enclose each note chromatically. That means approaching each chord tone from above and below using passing tones, adding movement, tension, and classic bebop flavor. Once all four chord tones are “hit,” we descend the Dorian scale to wrap up the line with a melodic, modal feel, grounding the phrase in the tonality of the moment. Comment "Guitar" and I'll send you the link to the Tabs in all 12 keys! Try it slowly, internalize the mechanics, and once it’s under your fingers, let it swing. #bebop #guitarsolo #guitars #jazzmusic
