What a year this has been! If there’s anything I’ve learned this past year, it’s that you have the power to decide where life takes you. During 2020 I gave up my apartment in the city and moved back home. I wasn’t sure where my next move would be or when. But as 2021 rang in, I came up with the idea of moving to Hawai’i and luckily Zach got on board. A few months later we found ourselves working remote on a coffee bean farm, spending our afternoons in the ocean. We made the island our home and (much to my surprise) got engaged there. A few months after returning to the mainland, I received an offer to work for United — a company I had long admired. Now I’m back in Chicago, working in an industry that I love, getting the opportunity to travel the world. Making the decision to give up my apartment was scary.
