Black History Month is an annual celebration starting back in 1926 and continues to be celebrated. Black History Month is a time to reflect, celebrate, and educate others on the struggles and honor African Americans for everything they have accomplished in previous years. As an organization and individuals, Uprising Magazine believes it is important to value and represent Black History Month as well as educate ourselves and our members about African American history and culture.
