Second place is hard. Not living up to your potential is hard. Failing is hard. But every opportunity that we have in life—especially the hard ones—helps us to grow, and we have experienced a lot of growing this season. I truly do not believe that these kids have hit their peak yet. I believe it’s still in there, and that greatness is waiting on the horizon. What they choose to do in the next two weeks will show us what they are really made of. We did have great moments and some triumphs from yesterday. Game Day was the best they have been all season. And we have kids who have become such great athletes through the learning this season that experienced personal triumphs yesterday, and we are so proud of them. The fight is far from over, and the best is yet to come. We can’t wait to show the nation who we are and what we are actually capable of.
