There’s a key difference between speaking in tongues and prophecy. Speaking in tongues builds you up. Prophecy builds others up. Let God build you up—so you can build up the body of Christ. I Corinthians 14:4 NKJV: “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.”
