7/16/25 - Last night, just after 10pm #OaklandFire responded to multiple reports of a building on fire at 9th Street and Madison Street. Arriving firefighters reported heavy fire on all floors of the building. An aggressive interior attack was initiated, however due to deteriorating conditions, crews switched to a defensive attack. Firefighters were able to protect an occupied residential building in close proximity to the flames. A total of 4 truck companies and multiple hand lines were able to knock down the bulk of the fire by 2:45am. Crews remained on scene throughout the night monitoring for flare ups.
