In the most recent four-day working week pilot all 17 organisations that took part have said they would like to continue with the arrangements. The trial, involving 1000 workers, ran for six months from November 2024 and was organised by the 4dayweekfoundation Organisations that wanted to experiment with different forms of flexibility such as a shorter working week, flexible start and finish times, a nine-day fortnight or compressed hours took part. The results found that companies participating in the scheme were able to maintain service levels and key performance indicators while observing several benefits for employee wellbeing. 66% of workers registered a reduction in how often they experienced burnout, 40% found an improvement in their mental health and almost half said they felt more satisfied with life.
