Saturday’s victory puts UCSD in a tie for first atop Big West standings. Led by senior forward Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones, who finished the game with 22 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists, the Tritons are flying high in their first year of Division-I postseason eligibility. A combination of 3-point shooting — the Tritons made 16 of 31 from beyond the arc last night —and stifling defense ranks UCSD No. 3 nationally in scoring margins, trailing behind only No. 2 Duke and No. 5 Houston.
