For the first time in program history, UC San Diego men’s basketball has qualified for March Madness. The Tritons dispatched UC Irvine 75-61 on Saturday night to clinch their first Big West Championship and a bid into the NCAA Tournament. Senior guard Hayden Gray — the NCAA leader in steals — led the Tritons with 22 points; his six 3-pointers were crucial in UCSD’s comeback win against the Anteaters. UC San Diego will enter the Big Dance with a 15-game win streak, the longest in the country. Story by Alan Zhang, Senior Staff Writer, and Kurt Johnston, Sports Editor.
