The truth is, no society will ever be happy and no country on the planet will ever truly prosper if women are not safe and valued.  Levels of violence against girls and women have increased. But instead of addressing the root cause, we’re just controlling our women more. Don’t go out after dark. Don’t wear that. Don’t trust strangers. Don’t walk alone. Why is that normal… and not the outrage? We keep focusing on protecting daughters while ignoring the sons who need to learn consent, respect and decency. We’re treating the symptoms while the disease spreads. This conversation will make you uncomfortable. It should. Because comfort is what’s kept us here for so long.
