As part of the High Seas campaign with greenpeaceap, we traveled to Lord Howe Marine Park to capture the extraordinary marine life that calls this place home. One of the only locations in Australia where you can encounter Galapagos sharks, Lord Howe Island offered the perfect backdrop for this unique story. Joining us was Amberofthesea, Australia’s deepest female freediver. Early in the expedition, she casually mentioned she could dance underwater. As we geared up to swim with the sharks, someone joked, “Why not go down there and dance with them?” And that’s exactly what she did. Galapagos sharks are naturally curious and elegant in the water—Amber’s movements only amplified their interest, creating a surreal, weightless interaction.
