Che’s new album “REST IN BASS” has been breaking the internet (and my ears) for the past few days, with Anthony Fantano surprisingly rating it higher than Whole Lotta Red, and Pitchfork giving it the same rating 😳 Have you listened yet? Where do you stand on it? 🤔💬 Personally, it’s one of my favorite album releases of the year, and easily Che’s best album yet. The production from rokonthetrack and the rest of the draco.fm collective is complex, but exciting. The melodies and vocal delivery from Che gives you so much energy while listening, it’s like a shot of espresso in music form. Additionally, I ALWAYS love a polarizing album that takes risks and takes time to get accustomed to. It’s albums like these that really expand your taste in ways you didn’t know were possible 💎 While I LOVED “Whole Lotta Red” when it dropped, Che’s album does beat it in some ways that come down to creative direction and executive production for me.
