Like other central Chilean ski resorts, La Parva receives a reasonable amount of snowfall each Southern Hemisphere winter, typically accumulating between 100 to 200 inches from June through September. While snow totals are generally a bit lower than nearby (and higher-elevation) Valle Nevado, they are still quite respectable. Where La Parva truly shines—if you time your visit right—is in snow quality. Thanks to its high altitude and dry mountain climate, the resort often sees light, dry powder when storms roll through. While quality can vary from storm to storm, it’s usually at least very good—and under ideal conditions, it can be absolutely exceptional, even rivaling the legendary snow of Utah’s top resorts.
