Does Stratton live up to the hype with over 670 acres of skiable terrain? @strattonresort is the second-largest ski resort in Vermont, and on paper, its size is impressive. But in practice, the terrain layout feels fairly uninspired. The mountain’s footprint is relatively uniform, with limited distinctive trail design or standout natural features—especially when compared to resorts just a few hours north. To its credit, Stratton offers a solid variety of terrain for Southern Vermont. However, don't expect to be surprised or emotionally moved by its trails. The skiing is consistent and accessible, but lacks the kind of wow-factor or diversity that defines more iconic destinations. Stratton also falls short in vertical drop. The resort advertises a 2,000-foot vertical, but the lift-served terrain only accounts for just over 1,900 feet. The full drop is only achievable if you ski down to the overflow parking lot—an area without lift service. #peakrankings #werankpeaks #skistratton #s...
