This experiment was CRAZY! I thought for sure there would be some meaningful difference in terms of when the hi-shine balloons popped and when the non-treated balloons popped. But honestly, it was a pleasant surprise! Each of the colors, regardless of hi-shine being added, popped at almost the exact same times. The black balloons only lasted about 2 hours, while the chrome balloons lasted nearly twice as long. So the biggest takeaways here are: 1. We don’t need to be afraid of using hi-shine in the sun (but I haven’t tested this with any other shine sprays so don’t assume they will all work this way!) 2. Balloons, regardless of color, sheen, or prayers, do NOT do well in direct sunlight! If you’re throwing a party that lasts longer than an hour, put your balloons inside. Your balloons will thank you.
