Here is an update from his ER CT scans. Elias currently has five tumors in his body. I’ve attached images from his most recent scan, which show 3 of them. The other two are located in his lungs—one in the left, and one in the right. We began radiation treatment Thursday. It will be a short course—just five sessions—meant only to help ease the pain caused by two of the tumors. After the first session, Elias was overcome with intense nausea and spent nearly two hours violently throwing up. It was heartbreaking to watch. He eventually fell asleep, completely exhausted. The next morning, things feel a little more stable, but the weight of it all is heavy. His second session went better and he didn’t have any nausea. He is very reluctant to go to the treatments, but once we are there he handles all of it like a champ. We are doing our best, but we feel weary at times—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
