Adventure for him comes in the form of jumping out of airplanes and an occasional escape from the clutches of a hawk. As for the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa, the white-winged parakeet is more of a fair-weather fan who's mainly along for the food. Bebe has been a staple and, indeed, a celebrity on RAGBRAI since 2021, making his first trek on owner Steve Lawyer’s shoulder while attached to a harness.
