At just 9 months old, Sarah is losing her hearing, her sight, her balance—her body is shutting down. She was diagnosed with Infantile Refsum Disease, a rare degenerative illness that requires strict care and medication. But instead of standing by her, Sarah’s father abandoned her—calling her “too expensive to keep alive”—leaving her and her mother homeless and vulnerable to further abuse.
