Hidden away from those not of Indigenous descent is the SageX School of Indigenous Mythology—a mythic school with a curriculum around all the different Indigenous tribes, mythologies, and preparation for inhabiting the Mythic World after graduating. Every year, the top 2 graduates earn the mantles of “Thunderbird” and “Phoenix” and obtain the supernatural powers of either mythic creature to defend SageX and the Mythic World from outside threats. But during graduation, Taima and Bodaway are revealed to somehow be the top 2 in their class despite everyone knowing they’re “academically challenged”.
