The infamous bay jump 😳 At #XGames San Francisco 1999, travispastrana went a little rogue. Mid comp, Travis drained the oil and almost all of the fuel from the gas tank, and launched off a 4 foot berm into the San Francisco Bay. Two boats hired by Travis’ manager were waiting — one to pick up Travis and one to get the bike from the water. On the previous jump, Travis landed himself a gold medal, of which the accompanying prize money was used to clean up the Bay.
