Ireland’s only protected insect, the beautiful Marsh Fritillary butterfly, stars in a new comic that has been created as part of the "Beo and Raja" series to spotlight the importance of #biodiversity and the #bioeconomy. The newly launched comic, The Butterfly Effect, focuses on the importance of #insects with the aim of engaging younger audiences. Prof. Jane Stout, Vice President for Biodiversity and Climate at Trinity, and President of the Royal Entomological Society for Insect Science, was one of the contributors in a team comprising researchers and collaborators from University College Dublin, Maynooth University, Trinity, BioBeo EU and the BiOrbic Research Ireland Centre for Bioeconomy, and illustrator Nathan Wright.
