An Post has unveiled new stamps celebrating two Trinity Women in STEM✨
Featuring two pioneering Irish scientists who have excelled in their fields, An Post has released a special set of postage stamps to celebrate women's contributions and advocacy in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and STEM communications.
They are:
👏 Professor Jocelyn Bell Burnell is an astrophysicist who discovered the first radio pulsars in 1967 and has studied the sky across almost the whole electromagnetic spectrum.
👏 Professor Aoife McLysaght is a geneticist and holds the Chair of Evolutionary Genetics in Trinity College Dublin and is one of the world’s leading genetics researchers. She was recently appointed to the role of Government Science Advisor.
Unveiled on March 5, 2025, by Minister James Lawless T.D., the stamps recognize the vital role of women in STEM and the importance of gender balance in research and innovation.
