Yesterday Billboard published its executive Latin Women In Music list for the second year in a row. Why did we create a “Latin Women In Music” list? Because our industry has grown so much, and the women that are part of it are so many and so important, that we felt it was essential to recognize them in the same way we recognize other industry leaders in other sectors. The list changes every year because the criteria changes. This year we have recognized 40 US based executives representing Artists or companies with major chart impact, and also 10 rising executives in different areas. The list is small and mighty by design. It is also music forward. These are executives who work in music companies or are dedicated exclusively to music. We are immensely immensely proud to recognize these women and their accomplishments. They are leaders and role models and rule breakers who are writing their own success.
