***BUTCHERS*** This is a portrait I made of David Wallace, a local butcher and owner of atbbutchershop. For me, David is a constant reminder of the importance of supporting local and a testament to how well some small businesses have been able to successfully innovate and alter their business models to survive during Covid-19. He and his team work tirelessly to provide their customers with premium level service and can welcome many of their patrons by name. When creating portraits, I sometimes like to place my subjects in unconventional settings. I wanted David to be the focal point of this portrait, so we went into the alley behind his shop, placed him in front of this concrete wall, and made sure there were no other distractions around.
