Buying a home in the Caribbean will now get you a little more than a foot on the ladder… You’ll get a whole new citizenship. ✈️ Foreign homeowners in a number of countries in the region will receive a passport along with the keys for their new property. The scheme is called citizenship by investment (CBI), and was created in an effort to attract buyers from overseas. US citizens account for the bulk of CBI applications over the past year, according to investment migration experts Henley & Partners. It added that overall applications for Caribbean CBI programmes have increased since the fourth quarter of 2024. In Antigua, estate agents are struggling to keep up with demand, Nadia Dyson, owner of Luxury Locations said. "Up to 70% of all buyers right now are wanting citizenship, and the vast majority are from the US," she told the BBC.
