It's
#InternationalTigerDay! 🐅
Do you know about the Amur tiger species? Native to the Russian Far East and parts of China, Amur tigers are the largest tiger subspecies, with males weighing up to 306 kg (675 lbs) and measuring nearly 3 meters long. These incredible cats are uniquely adapted to harsh winters — their fur grows longer, denser, and paler in the cold, helping them blend into snowy landscapes and stay warm. Amur tigers are strong swimmers and often follow rivers and streams, not only to hydrate but also to hunt 🐾
With fewer than 500 individuals left in the wild, these apex predators are critically endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and declining prey populations. They require up to 9–10 kg of meat daily and can consume as much as 45 kg in a single meal. Despite their strength, only about 1 in 10 hunts is successful, and they may travel up to 80 km in a single day searching for food.
