Welcome to the non-hype side of #weathertok — Most forecast model guidance keeps the Atlantic Basin calm over the next 2 weeks. A few rogue model runs here and there don’t tell the full story…but even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while, so while odds are low, we can’t completely discount the potential of activity ramping up by mid August. Historically and climatologically speaking, the basin starts to wake up in August with 86% of average season activity happening AFTER August 2. For now, any future development odds appear low.
