Growing up in the south, I’d grown up noticing how the flag had been co opted, paired with nationalist rhetoric, and used as a visual dog whistle. However, very recently I had the realization that the flag as a symbol does NOT belong to one specific group. It is our symbol to wield and it is our symbol to be reclaimed. As a child of immigrants, I know the strides my parents took to come to this country. The flag stands for them, for me, and for all of us. Much thanks to alexisbittar & bcohen6 for having me along on this project with so many other wonderful people. I’m proud to have been a part of it and I encourage everyone to head to YouTube (linque en bio) to watch the full documentary: Out now!! #ReclaimTheFlag
