Andry Hernández Romero, the gay Venezuelan asylum seeker who was unlawfully sent to CECOT prison in El Salvador, is speaking up about his experience after 125 days of brutal detention .
Hernández Romero, who has now been reunited with his family, shared horrific accounts of torture, including beatings, being sexually abuse by guards, starvation, and confinement in dark, inhumane cells.
Despite entering the U.S. legally and passing an initial credible fear interview, he was accused (without evidence) of being in a gang membership due to his tattoos and denied due process.
Andry spoke of the physical and psychological trauma endured. He says he is grateful to know the world was demanding his release and kept his name alive.
Venezuela has launched an investigation into the abuses, while U.S. officials dismiss the allegations.
