🩺 For Dr Shiv Pande, general practice was never just about treatment, it was about access, communication and trust. Born and trained in India, Dr Pande worked as a GP in Liverpool in the 1970s. In 1980, he launched Aap Kaa Hak (Know Your Rights), a TV show designed to help South Asian communities in the UK understand their healthcare options. 🎙️ His media work didn’t stop at the screen - he brought it into his surgery. 🧑🏽‍⚕️ Family planning, dietitians, social workers - all were welcomed into his practice to deliver joined-up, culturally responsive care. We’re proud to feature Dr Pande’s story in our Health Inequalities Exhibition as we mark South Asian Heritage Month. 📍 Visit the exhibition at 30 Euston Square or explore it online #SAHM #SouthAsianHeritageMonth
