Oregon and a coalition of other states sued the Trump administration Tuesday over a provision in the “Big Beautiful Bill” that bars Planned Parenthood and other large nonprofit abortion providers from receiving Medicaid funding for a host of unrelated health care services. “Defunding Planned Parenthood is not about fiscal responsibility— it’s about targeting healthcare providers that some politicians don’t like,” Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield (pictured above) said. “Planned Parenthood is where thousands of Oregonians go for cancer screenings, contraception, and basic medical care.
